To use your Hosting account with us you will need a domain name. Domain names can be ordered via your control panel at any time, or you can use the 'Transfer a Domain' function to bring any existing domains you might have into your account with us. On-screen instructions will guide you through the transfer procedure every step of the way. .uk transfers can only succeed if the IPSTAG for the domain has been changed first. The previous host or registry can make that change for you if required.
Customers can also use 'Domain References' to add their existing domains into their accounts. The use of a Domain Reference doesn't bring the domains fully into an account, domain renewals will still be dealt with by the old registry and you'll also need to organise the change of nameservers for your domain with the old host or registry as they will still control the domain. For those reasons we always recommend that customers fully transfer their domains into their account with us.
If you do choose to use a Domain Reference then you'll also need our nameserver details to pass along to the previous host, who can make the necessary changes for you. Those nameservers are as follows:-
79.170.40.2
79.170.43.3
To setup Outlook Express to work with your Internet mail account please follow these instructions.
1. Start Outlook Express and select the Tools menu. From here select 'Accounts'
2. In the window that appears press the 'Add' button and then select 'Mail...'
3. Enter your name as you would like it to appear to people who receive emails from you. Then click 'Next'.
4. Enter the email address that you want to use and that you have setup with Heart Internet. Then click 'Next'.
5. Now you need to enter your incoming and outgoing servers. For the incoming server you should enter mail.'yourdomain.com' – substituting your own domain name for yourdomain.com. For the outgoing mail server you should enter mail.'yourdomain.com' as before. Then click Next.
6. To finish you need to enter your username (which is your full email address) and password for your mail account. You can view your username and password in eXtend. Once entered please click Next and then Finish.
7. To allow you to send mail through our mail server you now need to make a small change to the properties of the account. Select 'Properties' from the 'Accounts' window.
You need to click the tick-box that says 'My server requires authentication' or 'This server requires me to log on' and then click 'OK' and 'Close':
You can now send and receive emails!
Yes, your clients can just go to http://www.outitgoes.com/ and log into their mailboxes from there.
Customers do not have to transfer their domains into us in order to use their hosting space, provided the nameservers for those domains can be moved over to ours. Our nameservers are ns.mainnameserver.com (79.170.40.2) and ns2.mainnameserver.com (79.170.43.3).
Please note that if domains< are not transferred over to us, you'll need to arrange for the renewal of those domains separately with whomever they reside with, and those domainswill not enjoy the full range of free services that our domain registration customers obtain by default.
